About Us
The Tennessee Sampler Survey was founded as a not-for-profit organization in 2004. Our mission is to document, to preserve, and to present Tennessee's needlework heritage. Our research includes documenting Tennessee samplers made prior to 1900. As of January 2009, we have located 210 samplers, 153 of which can be proven as Tennessean.
Congratulations to Susan Houston, who won a blue ribbon in the sampler category and a very impressive purple best-in-show ribbon at the Williamson (TN) County Fair for her Middle Tennessee sampler!
Wow! That's so exciting! I hope I can do half as good with mine. It's being entered in the State Fair. Take a peek at my blog to see what it looks like sewed to the mat board. It has since been framed, but no pictures of that as of yet.

Again, congrats to Susan!
That is a beautiful sampler and a lot of time and work went into her piece, she deserves a ribbon.
