About Us
The Tennessee Sampler Survey was founded as a not-for-profit organization in 2004. Our mission is to document, to preserve, and to present Tennessee's needlework heritage. Our research includes documenting Tennessee samplers made prior to 1900. As of January 2009, we have located 210 samplers, 153 of which can be proven as Tennessean.
For the past two years, two groups of stitchers have been working on the Middle Tennessee Sampler, a sampler I designed based on Middle Tennessee motifs. Three people have finished. Their samplers are below:
